Water Fun

We had quite a few friends over for a water party recently. Here are the results of many water balloons being thrown. It was quite a busy day.

These are some cool balloons that Jason's boss, Zeke, gave to Spencer as a gift. You pump them up and let them go and they squeal off into the air. It's great exercise for S to chase them and then they can be reused over and over again. I think this may be my new birthday present for others. It's really neat!

This is Dawson just in awe of the cool balloons!

Chicago Fun!

We made it to Chicago for a friend's wedding and to visit the Field Museum.
It was a fun day of dinosaurs and lots of other animals.

Big T-Rex puppets

Spencer really liked these puppets...

"Sue" the giant T-Rex at the museum

Dawson did lots of driving in his stroller that day!

Swim Lessons

The back float

Holding onto the board and kicking

The big jump with the teacher on the side instead of in front of him...a big leap for Spencer!

Sophie and Spencer...their last days together before Kindergarten starts in a few weeks!
What will they ever do without each other?

We're saving this one for the wedding video :)

Summer Fun!

Crazy Uncle Chris and the little kids showing off their muscles.
I think Ashlyn looks like she has very dainty muscles and
Spencer just has bones to show off....not much muscle there...

Yes, we're bad parents...we let our child set off some fireworks.
He's a bottle rocket junkie now!

Swimming in Nanny and Papa's pool

The boys showing off their transformers
....thanks a lot mcdonald's for all these great toys!

This is from Memorial Day weekend riding the 4 wheeler with Jason
..poor Ashlyn had to hold on tight! I don't think they went very fast or very far!

Happy 90th Birthday Grandma Costner!!!

We traveled to Missouri to celebrate Jason's Grandma Costner's 90th Birthday last weekend. She is still living in her home (with a little assistance)
and her mind is still very sharp. We were so happy to be there to celebrate with her.
Her 5 daughters planned a fun filled weekend at grandma's house just like old times when Jason was growing up. There was slip n slide, softball, croquet and lots of outdoor games,
a scavenger hunt, a hay ride, lots of delicious food, water balloons, lots of visiting and laughing, and Grandma got to see it all.
It was a lot more action than she sees at her house on a normal day...that's for sure.
Happy Birthday Grandma!
(even though you'll never see this because you don't have the internet!)

90 Roses for Grandma Costner's Birthday!!!

My masterpiece

The whole crew at church on Sunday...about 70 of us...
there were others who came to the party weekend
who are not pictured as well. It was a great turn out.
Grandma's family had the whole middle section of the church reserved just for us
(in their little church with an average attendance of 75 or so).
We also sang "Because He Lives" in honor of Grandma because it is her favorite song.
She and many others boo hoo'd through the whole song :)

Dawson having his first cracker. He loved it! Dawson is enjoying some good table foods these days as well as the baby food and cereals we can get down him!

We went to the Peoria Chiefs Baseball game. Our church got to take part in many of the activities at the game that night. Spencer had fun sitting next to his friend, Alli, and Dawson liked the game, too. We even stayed till the end and saw the fireworks!
