Dawson's New Trick

My littlest man can clap his hands. He also is starting to sit up (finally), and he got his 2 bottom teeth over Memorial Day at Nanny and Papa's house. It was a big weekend!

My baby is 7 months old today

My littlest man is 7 months old today. Time has gone fast in some ways, but we're very glad to have made it this far. Dawson has come a long way since birth! We are so thankful to have him in our family. He's such a cutie! We love you , Dawson!

Pebbles and Rio

These are our 2 cats...Pebbles (grey) and Rio (black). They are the best of friends. We got Pebbles from "the cat lady" as she was called. We lived in CT at the time and this lady just picked up strays here and there and kept them in her house...you can just imagine the smell. We saved Pebbles from her stinky house and she's been a wonderful cat. She is so sweet, a little skiddish, and really loves to "mother" Rio.
Now Rio is another story. He's friendly and all, but he can be a real troublemaker. He is in constant search of any cup filled with water that he can stick his paw or head into and tip over (like he doesn't have 2 bowls of water downstairs at his convenience 24/7). Rio is more snuggly than Pebbles, but he has much more energy, too. When he's hyper and running through the house it sounds like a slew of horses. We call him our "black stallion".
When we had the earthquake here, my grandparents were visiting us (Jason was out of town). I ran down the hall after the quake to see if grandma and grandpa had felt the shaking. Grandpa's first words were, "I think your cats are running around down there...we heard a bunch of noise!" I had to laugh as I told them they'd just witnessed an earthquake....it's was a funny moment at 4:30 a.m.

Tee Ball is Here!

Spencer is so excited to finally start Tee-Ball! He wanted to play last summer, but wasn't old enough yet. So we've been practicing a lot in the backyard and he loves it. He has lots of friends from school and church on his team. I think he'll have a great time playing these next 6 weeks.

Autumn

2 Highlights of my day

Score 2 for mommy today....

I was getting dressed today, reached in my pocket and found a $20 bill! How's that for a start to my day! I love when that happens...although it's usually just coins or single bills that I might find. (It is rare that I'd misplace a $20 bill...I'm not wasteful or foolish with our money...)

My second accomplishment today was that Dawson slept a little longer this morning so I got some vacuuming done and I mopped the kitchen floor! Now, some of you may laugh at this comment, but I know that the stay at home mommies can relate to this. It's impossible to get and keep our kitchen floor clean....it's my least favorite job besides toilets and showers....

Mother's Day Happiness

Even though the weather on Mother's Day was awful, I still had a great day. I am thrilled to be a mom of 2 this year! We had a long, hard road to conceive and finally have Dawson so this year is very special to me. I am so thankful to our Lord for granting us our desire for another child. We are forever grateful.

This is my first post. I hope to use this blog to keep family and friends updated on what's happening with us. I'm still designing what I want on the layout so things may change soon. Thanks for reading!
